Drake And Lil Wayne Join Forces Once Again On “Hype (Remix)”

Music News

It’s been a little over a year since Drake and Lil Wayne hopped on a track together, but the boys are back. The Young Money family reunited for the official remix on Drake’s single, “Hype.”

Lil Wayne starts the track off, with his high pitched rhymes filled with plenty of purple fury. While he may have been referencing his affinity for the “purple drank,” he also gave the late Prince a shoutout. “I pull up on ya in that purple thang, bumpin’ ‘Purple Rain,’ sipping purple rain, pouring champagne,” he spit. Drake let Weezy take the lead on the track, with him only coming in for the chorus. The New Orleans rapper also mentioned his ex-girlfriend, Christina Milian on the single saying, “you don’t see ‘Tina right next to me.”
