SZA Lights Up The Stage At AfroPunk & Jose Cuervo Event

Fresh off her critically-acclaimed performance at this year’s Coachella, SZA took her talents to Brooklyn and performed her original melodies as well as her collaboration with Rihanna, “Consideration.”

The Villain was the place to be on Cinco de Mayo yesterday where the vibrant sounds were also provided by DJ Kitty Kash, DJ Liindsey, DJ MOMO and DJ Underdog.

In a previous interview with Vibe, SZA shared her creative process behind her forthcoming A album.

“It’s just like understanding that as long as you stick to yourself, it doesn’t matter what you do. But sticking to yourself 100% is hard because it’s a lot of responsibility and it’s kind of painful because you also have to accept parts of yourself that are borderline sh*tty,” she said. “Then, you’re just like ehh. But doing that is so important to move on and get better. Like you do need a vocal coach or you do need XYZ. Or maybe you should I don’t know, shave your legs this time for this shoot or something. It’s just a number of things. Writing my music and this album has helped me confront sh*t in life.”
