50 Cent And Dr. Dre Accused Of Stealing ‘P.I.M.P.’ Beat
Producer Brandon Parrot is reportedly filing a lawsuit against Dr. Dre and 50 Cent because he says they stole the beat for the mega hit “P.I.M.P.” from him.
According to TMZ, Parrot sent 10 tracks to Dr. Dre in 2001 hoping that one of Dre’s artists would record on his music. In 2003, Parrot received a call from Aftermath Entertainment, Dre’s record label, explaining that his track “BAMA” was used in “P.I.M.P.,” but stated that they never expected the track to end up on the final album–it was a complete oversight. At the time, Parrot believed them and signed a settlement deal.
Now, Parrot says that he has heard interviews from the two rap moguls that reveal their usage of his music was completely intentional and he feels he was taken advantage of years ago. His lawsuit is seeking a piece of that hearty “P.I.M.P.” pie.
Will Parrot get a dollar out of 50 and Dre?
