Michael B. Jordan Recreates Underwater Photo Of Muhammad Ali


Tributes for the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali on the heels of his passing on Jun. 3 have poured in from the entertainment industry’s movers and shakers. Actor Michael B. Jordan has taken it a step further, recreating the iconic underwater photo snapped for Sports Illustrated by Flip Schulke in 1961, which was later rejected by the mag for being “too strange.”

“Respect to the GOAT. Your legacy will live forever!” the caption accompanying Jordan’s picture reads. Jordan’s star has steadily risen in recent years, and most recently, he garnered praise from critics for his portrayal as boxer Adonis Creed in the film, Creed.

Of course, Jordan wouldn’t be the first person who has recreated some of Ali’s most memorable photographs. Alicia Keys also recreated the photo for a blog post in 2013.
