Minnesota Is Partying Like It’s 1999 For Prince’s Birthday

The world may never truly recover from the loss of musical icon Prince, but fans continue to celebrate his life and legacy in beautiful ways. Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has declared Tuesday (June 7), to be Prince Day in the North Star state. Today would have been the legend’s 58th birthday.

“The proclamation issued today by Governor Dayton and Lt. Governor Smith is meant to celebrate Prince’s life and many contributions–not only in arts and culture, but also in his many acts of service to his fellow Minnesotans,” says the governors office.
