Producer Ben Billions Opens Up About Working With Belly On ‘Another Day In Paradise’

RocNation signee Belly and executive producer Ben Billions are back with the rapper’s first project released under his new label called Another Day In Paradise. Within the last year, the Canadian rapper gained new notoriety after he first linked with Billions to drop his popular mixtape Up For Days. Belly is also known for co-wroting six tracks for The Weeknd’s recent LP Beauty Behind The Madness.

After the success of Up For Days, Billions, who’s responsible for producing hit records like Yo Gotti’s “Down In The DM,” Future’s “Low Life,” and Lil Wayne’s latest offering “Off Off Off,” realized he and Belly had to go harder on their new project. He knew exactly how to keep building their prosperous momentum from Up For Days.

“It’s really picking up where the last one left off,” Billions told VIBE exclusively. “We got some really dope features on there.”

Another Day In Paradise holds fresh collaborations with Travis Scott, Juicy J, Waka Flocka, Kehlani, and Lil Wayne, who appears on “Barely Sober” — crafted by Billions — and “All Day” by producer Velous. However, don’t let outstanding features overwhelm you. According to Ben, it’s Belly’s overall progression as an artist that will shatter all expectations.

“To me, he’s always had bars and melody,” said Billions. “Sometimes, even for me on production, when you know you have somebody with more ears, you go a little harder just because, you know? Even on the first project, we didn’t have intentions that it would be this. There were bars on the first project that we were like ‘Yo Jay Z is gonna hear this shit and it’ll be crazy.’ And he did. He been had the talent, it’s just now it’s a little more defined because the expectations are higher.”
