Sampha Premieres “Plastic 100°C” In An Emotional Video Performance
With his cover story for The Fader, the young London singer premiered an emotional new track during an acoustic shoot with the magazine.
The song, called “Plastic 100°C,” is a beautiful anthem for those trying to deal with the immense pressures of life. Sampha plays an incredible acoustic version of the song, showcasing that his talent on the keys is only matched by his immaculate voice. The conflicting tones come together perfectly, and the setting of the video helps only to add to the rawness of the song. Recorded on the rooftop of his label’s studio, the intimacy of the performance is captured as the London scenery moves all around him and dusk begins to settle on the city.
The song is sung in classic Sampha fashion, with high falsetto hooks combined with a powerful yet not overwhelming tone. His vocal range is on full display on “Plastic 100°C.”
Along with the debut of his new song, Sampha gave details on his upcoming debut album. Coming off his stellar contribution on the Kanye West song “Saint Pablo,” the artist is gearing up to really start making a bigger name for himself — and increase his catalog of tunes.
“There’s a lot I see, feel, really want to express,” Sampha tells The Fader. “I think that’s part of the thing, like — I feel so much.”
