Dave East & G Herbo “Do It For” The Youth

Back in 2015, G Herbo, and his homie lil Durk, took offense by not being included on XXL’s Freshman cover. Durk even expressed his views about it in a video. This led to Herbo releasing a song addressing issues with the 2015 Freshman list.

Well, that was last year. This year’s Freshman cover included both Dave and Herbo. And as a celebration, the two emcees linked for a street banger on “Do It For.” Over production by Black Metaphor, the rising rappers take listeners on a shotgun ride through the slums of East Harlem and the Eastside of Chi-City. The pair’s savvy bars mesh well because of their ability to paint concrete descriptions of life in the streets as opposed to superficial accounts.

Dave East’s Hate Me Now mixtape is still keeping his name hot in hip-hop circles — and he’s been keeping his name ringing with freebies like his most being the BJ Chicago Kid collabo, “Hold Me Down.”

Herbo is keeping busty as well. He recently came off the Darkest Before Dawn tour with Puaha T, Bia and Lil Bibby. Also, he popped on the Sean Kingston and Lil Bibby-assisted “They Know Us.”
