Dizzy Wright Hopes To Touch America's Heart With His "They Know Why" Video
Dizzy Wright opens up about his feelings about the social injustice.
Dizzy Wright joins the growing list of emcees willing to stand up against the social injustice that has plagued our country. The Las Vegas native speaks his mind about everything from the recent outbreak of police brutality and the presidential election in his enticing new video for his latest single "They Know Why," which he recorded, mixed, and made an accompanying video for in less than 24 hours.
While commending the actions of Snoop Dogg and The Game's within their community, the former Funk Volume rapper drops bars that reference Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. His thoughts about the police is evident in the chorus, yet deep within his verse he takes a few jabs at the police officers involved in their deaths, which he likens to people like George Zimmerman.
"Ain't you supposed to serve and protect me?" Dizzy raps. "Does the color of my skin make you neglect me? Do I have to die to make your heart feel heavy?"
Wright goes on to explain that he understands how people can believe violence that be the only way to retaliate, but it's not. In the end, he prays that all the positive people out there will help spread as much love as possible in our own neighborhoods and around the world.
