The State Of New Jersey Hits Lauryn Hill With Six-Figure Tax Lien
The state of New Jersey has hit Lauryn Hill with a six-figure tax line. According to documents obtained by Bossip, the 41-year-old recording artist owes $438,221, in back taxes.
The Tax judgement was filed on June 30, Bossip states. A four-year old tax lien for $446,386.60 was also found under her name, but it’s not clear if the two debts are related.
Hill, a mother of six, was sentenced to three months in prison for tax evasion in 2013. The former Fugees front woman owed Uncle Sam more than $900,000, which she paid off.
These days, Hill continues to tour the globe , most recently performing at the Montreal Jazz Fest.
