Macklemore, Kerry Washington & More Lead Anti-Trump Petition
Macklemore and Kerry Washington are leading celebrities to join the anti-Donald Trump campaign.
Macklemore, Kerry Washington and many other celebrities in Hollywood want to you know that anyone is better than Donald Trump for president. And in an attempt to deny Trump the White House, more than 100 celebrities have banded together to sign on to the anti-Trump campaign at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Macklemore and the Scandal actress were joined by Shonda Rhimes; The Avengers star, Mark Ruffalo; Breaking Bad actor, Bryan Cranston and many more, calling all Americans to not vote for Trump in the upcoming presidential election. The petition is part of MoveOn.org's "United Against Hate" effort, which protests most of Trump's plans to build a wall along the Mexican border, deport Muslims and many other racist and insensitive strategies.
These are not the only celebrities to use their platforms to kick Trump out of the race. During the DNC's second night in Philly on July 26, Scandal star, Tony Goldwyn, America Ferrera, Alicia Keys and more pledged their support for the first female presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton. The "Mothers of the Movement" also made a moving appearance during the convention, to express their support for Clinton.
There are two days left for the national convention. The highly televised event will conclude on July 28. President Barack Obama and the Clintons will take the stage on the final days as well.
