Nickelodeon Leads The Way With First Gay, Interracial Couple
History in the making.
Nickelodeon has been the home to several popular after school classics including fan-favorites like Hey Arnold and The Amanda Show. Now, according to The Verge, the kids' brand is leading the the way for LGBT characters with their newest show The Loud House.
Nick's The Loud House is a children's show based on a large family of eleven children. In the show the main character, Lincoln, struggles with being the only son with 10 sisters. Talk about a full house! In the show's latest episode "Overnight Success," the newly-introduced married couple, Harold and Howard McBride, prepare their son Clyde for a sleepover with Lincoln.

Voiced by actor Wayne Brady and singer Michael McDonald, the couple are not only Nick's first same-sex marriage couple, but they also biracial. Breaking barriers left and right, Twitter reacted in excitement to see such diversity on their television screens.
