Travis Scott Announces Release Date For New Mixtape "Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight"
July 27, 2016 - 1:03 pm by Ben Rappaport
Travis Scott tore down the Coney Island Amphitheater with a sold out performance Wednesday night (July 26) and then randomly announced an August 5 date. As he performed his current hit: "Pick Up The Phone" he later told the crowd the mysterious date is the day his new mixtape "Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight" will be released.
Fans of La Flame hope he follows through with this declaration this time. Many were disappointed after Travis announced at a June 28th show his album "would be out in a week" only for there to be no project. To be fair, Travis has had a lot on his plate. The young G.O.O.D. Music rapper inked a deal with Apple Music and is apparently working on an accompanying film to coincide with the mixtape.
Travis Scott fans went nuts, running through new and old hits, the Houston native brought his "rodeo" to Brooklyn. He performed two new songs, "Sh*t To Lose" and "Steady With The Crew", while fans moshed and raged to the music. Travis brought out Yeezus producer Mike Dean who live played tracks such as Kanye West's "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" and G.O.O.D. Music anthem "Champions."
