Is There A New ‘A Tribe Called Quest’ Album On The Way?

It looks like A Tribe Called Quest is seeking to add to their storied discography. During an interview with Rap Radar podcast, Epic Records’ chairman and CEO, L.A. Reid, shared exciting news that the Queens rap collective are working on a new album that’ll hit the market “very soon.”

“I’m really excited about that. It’s an album that they recorded before Phife passed away,” he said. “And I’m really happy about it. It’s really something special.”

The forthcoming project will serve as the follow-up to their 1998 record, The Love Movement, that featured appearances by Redman, N.O.R.E., Busta Rhymes, Mos Def and more.

This news also follows the announcement of a street in Queens, New York, being named after Phife Dawg, who passed away from diabetes in March 2016. Phife’s honor will be immortalized on Linden Blvd. and 192nd St.
