Beyonce Performs “Lemonade” For Packed MTV VMA Crowd

Beyonce performed songs from her ground-breaking visual effort Lemonade in at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night (August 28) Sprinkled with interpolations of the poems about denial, anger and apathy from the April release, Beyonce treated us to not a performance, but a SHOW featuring all of the sweet and sour goodness we have come to expect from the superstar’s sixth studio album.

From choreography to bat-wielding to incredulous levels of black girl magic, The Queen Bey lived up to her namesake for the thousands in attendance, ending with a legit mic drop after performing “Pray You Catch Me,” “Hold Up,” “Sorry,” “Don’t Hurt Yourself” and “Formation.”
