Diddy Celebrates The Opening Of His Capital Prep Charter School

Before Diddy heads out on tour, the mogul had to make sure that everything was in order for his students at Capital Preparatory Charter School in Harlem, New York City ahead of the back-to-school rush.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the Harlemite himself planned to step into the education field by establishing his own school, and the learning facility opened this week to enthusiastic students.

“Growing up in Harlem I always had a dream of opening a school with a leadership curriculum for our inner city youth,” the Bad Boy Entertainment leader wrote on Instagram. “Through the grace of God and the support of the Harlem community my dream came true.”

With his decades-long phrase, “Can’t stop, won’t stop,” serving as the mantra for the students during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Diddy shared that through this leadership academy, the next generation will be able to soak in the knowledge that he gained from his mother to his peers during his ascent to the top of his field.

“I was able to gain tools and secrets and knowledge about what it takes to be a leader, what it takes to win, what it takes to make your dreams come true,” he said, according to Page Six.

The school seeks to open its doors to 160 students in sixth and seventh grades.
