Get This...Donald Trump Called Hillary Clinton A Bigot
It's obviously opposite day.
Donald Trump has caused many to raise their eyebrow (again) after the G.O.P presidential candidate called Hillary Clinton a bigot Tuesday (August 16) at a rally.
“We reject the bigotry of Hillary Clinton, which panders to and talks down to communities of color and sees them only as votes,” Trump said. “That’s all they care about. Not as individual human beings, worthy of a better future. They have taken advantage.”
The speech, which was made in West Bend, Wisconsin, was Trump's most vocal pitch to African-Americans. However, the messaging may have been lost on the crowd that was devoid of minorities.
"The Democratic Party has taken the votes of African-American for granted,” Trump said. “They’ve just assumed they’ll get your support and done nothing in return for it. They’ve taken advantage of the African-American citizen.”
Despite his outreach to African-Americans and people of color, a recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed that Trump has only one percent of the African-American vote. When asked by Fox News host Bill O'Reilly back in July how he plans to lesson the tension between police and African-Americans, Trump spoke about spirit.
“Well, one thing is spirit,” Trump said. “I mean, we don’t have spirit. The country doesn’t have any spirit.”
African-American voters have been the key to success for a lot of Democratic candidates. Trump at one point believed he could garner 25 percent of the African-American vote, but with the recent poll, that doesn't seem to be the case.
