Frank Ocean Drops New 'Boys Don't Cry' Zine

Frank Ocean is back with a new project featuring collaborations from Lil B, Kanye West, and more.

After nearly four years of silence, Frank Ocean is back and full of surprises. Following the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album, Blond, Frank has gifted fans with a limited edition zine entitled Boys Don't Cry. The singer unveiled it on Saturday (Aug. 20) at his temporary pop-up shop locations in New York, London, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Fans could attend any of the four locations and get a free copy of the magazine, which came packaged with his new album. Additionally, Boys Don't Cry features exclusive photos, personal essays penned by Frank, as well as lengthy interviews with Kanye West, which discusses the collaboration process on his latest LP, The Life of Pablo. Others featured on Ocean's zine include Lil B, Wolfgang Tillmans, and more.  And Frank's personal essay steps away from music as the "Nikes" singer shares his love for cars.

As another added bonus under the "album contributors" section, Frank revealed the Blond credits, which includes an impressive list of heavy-hitting collaborators. Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, and Beyonce were among the list of contributors, as well as Andre 3000, The Beatles, Tyler, The Creator, and the late icon, David Bowie.

The Boys Don't Cry zine may just be the cherry on top of a huge Frank Ocean-themed cake. Check out Frank Ocean's zine here.

XXXTentacion Friend And Affiliate Reportedly Shot In The Head

Christian Moore, a 16-year-old rapper and affiliate of the late XXXTentacion, was reportedly shot in the head over the weekend.

According to WPLG Local 10, the young man– who performs under the name C-Glizzy– was reported shot in the head on Saturday night (Jun. 15) in Pompano Beach, Fla. while leaving a store. His brother and friend reportedly tried to drive him to the hospital, but “lost control of their car” and hit a wall on an exit ramp on I-95.

“The group eventually made it to the hospital where Moore underwent hours of surgery to remove the bullet from his head,” WPLG reports. Moore was sent to Broward Health North to be treated for his injury. “Family members say Moore is currently sedated and is not talking.”

Moore’s mother says she is “expecting” and “hoping” that he will survive the gunshot wound he sustained. It is currently unclear what the motives behind the shooting are, and The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances.

XXXTentacion, who was friends with Moore, was fatally shot on June 18, 2018 in Florida as he was leaving RIVA Motorsports. He was just 20 years old.

UPDATE: @CGlizzyofficial’s mom tells me he is heavily sedated and not talking right now, but she is expecting and hoping that he’ll survive the gunshot wound he sustained to the head. Tory Lanez Calls Out Colorism On Set Of New Music Video

Tory Lanez is calling out colorism in the music industry after experiencing a tough moment on the set of a new music video he was shooting. The Canadian artist alleged that the directors attempted to swap out a woman with a darker complexion for a model of a lighter skin tone.

The video shoot was apparently for Nafe Smallz's "Good Love" video. In a BTS clip that Lanez shared on Instagram on Sunday (June 17), the rapper appeared to be performing alongside a black woman. During their take, the video crew appeared to motion for another woman – who was noticeably lighter than the current stand-in – to enter the shoot. Lanez then appeared to stop the shoot, saying "she's already here... you look great though."

In his caption, Lanez highlighted the music industry's flaws and the continued problem with colorism. "This is an On-Going problem in our community of entertainment that needs to stop. As a black man, Sometimes I’m going to joke about the black community just like we all do. BUT WHAT IM NOT GOING TO DO IS ALLOW ANY OF THESE DIRECTORS TO DE-VALUE OUR BLACK WOMEN," he wrote. "Countless times I’ve seen directors swap out our women of color for women of lighter complexion, or women with straighter hair ETC. ... IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS ARTIST TO STAND UP AND NOT LET THIS HAPPEN .. it’s BEEN time to embrace our woman of color."

Despite Lanez's initial account of the situation, DJ Akademiks posted a series of Instagrams that refuted the rapper's claims. "The women who were in the #torylanez video and also the directors are claiming it didn’t go down the way Tory described it on Instagram," he wrote. One of the women also reported that Lanez staged the video to "to make it appear as if it had something to do with race."

It's unclear who is telling the correct version of the story at this time. Lanez has not commented on DJ Akademik's claims. See Lanez's post below.

Chris Brown Suggests He Was Hacked After Karrueche IG Drama

Chris Brown received major backlash on Thursday (June 13), after several fans caught wind of a series of comments the singer allegedly left under a photo of his ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran and her new boyfriend, Victor Cruz. According to Breezy, however, he was hacked and did no such thing.

"People going out they way. Leave them people alone and stop creating unnecessary drama," Brown wrote on his Instagram Stories on Friday (June 14).  "Whoever's been DM my followers or commenting as me lame asf."

As you may have heard, Brown – or someone posing as the R&B crooner – commented under several photos of Kae and Cruz, advising the model and actress to "upgrade" her new boyfriend. "Upgrade him sis. I'll take him around to style him," one of the comments read.

Well, if Brown really was hacked, that is, indeed, lame as hell. See Chris' message below.
