Future’s “Commas” Performance Brought Some Needed Southern Sauce To 2016 VMAs

While artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye and Teyana Taylor made the most noise at the 2016 MTV VMAs, Future was also in the building to bring some Atlanta flavor to the big show.

Future Hendrix was an early performer at the awards, but still brought the energy during his performance of “Commas.” Flanked in shades of red and purple — the color of his favorite pharmaceutical — the Southern rapper tore it down as the lively crowd at Madison Square Garden partied along with him.

Michael Phelps was also on hand to give Future one incredible introduction. During his speech, the Olympic athlete revealed that he was listening to the rapper’s “Stick Talk” song before crushing the 2016 games in Rio.
