That’s All Folks: Jay Pharoah Not Returning To ‘Saturday Night Live’
Saturday Night Live’s resident impersonator, Jay Pharoah, will not be returning to Studio 8H for the sketch show’s 42nd season, TVLine reports. He and another fan favorite, Taran Killam, will both be leaving the show after six seasons with the cast to pursue other opportunities.
Since joining the ensemble in 2010 as a featured player, Pharohh has given us memorable moments such as his spot-on impressions of Jay Z, Will Smith and Barack Obama. More recently, he’s cracked up viewers with his out-of-the-box impersonation of former GOP hopeful, Ben Carson.
Pharoah has not commented on the news, but Killam- who has done impressions of Eminem, Matthew McConaughey and Christoph Waltz- thanked his fans for their support. You may remember Killam before his time on SNL as a cast member on Nick Cannon’s Wild n’ Out.
A big thank you for all the Love from my fans. Lorne was kind enough to understand I needed more time to dedicate to my undefeated @RamsNFL
