Joey Bada$$ Celebrates Life In "Devastated" Video
The visual comes three months after the tracks official release.
Joey Bada$$ has overcome a lot in his life, and he put all his accomplishments into the visual for his hit single "Devastated".
On Tuesday (Aug 9) the Pro Era leader went around Brooklyn and Manhattan showing exclusive screenings of the video with exclusive merchandise to commemorate the flick. Yesterday, Badmon dropped the Shomi Patwary co-directed video for the world to see. And fans flooded Joey's mentions on social media, ushering their support for the new video.
The Brooklyn rapper waking up in the middle of what looks to be a high school football field alone at night, then as the beat drops and the chorus kicks in, Bada$$ is joined by friends that fill up the surrounding bleachers. He then turns the scene into a pep-rally. The 21-year-old walks the streets for the next verse, as kids filled the boulevard and the setting proceeds to Joey leading the clique from a rooftop of a building in a turnt up party scene, straight out of Project X.
The Mr. Robot star told the Rolling Stone, "My main objective was to give people a feel-good, uplifting song, 'cause a lot of music in my catalog is really introspective or meditative, critical-thinking type of vibes, or really aggressive type of vibes. So I wanted to switch it up and give my fans something new, like something they can listen to and feel good about. Something that you could play for the whole world – you know, kids, grandmoms, everyone. Something that everyone could relate to."
The "Unorthodox" rapper is having quite the summer, and will be joining School Boy Q on the Blank Face Tour kicking off at the end of the month.
