MTV Is Giving Kanye West 4 Minutes To Do Whatever He Damn Well Pleases On Stage
Anything can happen.
For the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West will grace the stage for four minutes and have all the creative freedom in the world. In other words: MTV producers are allowing The Life of Pablo artist to do whatever moves his spirit during his performance.
According to TMZ, producers aren't sure what Mr. West will do. He may pull out all the stops and make his 240 seconds on stage jaw dropping and magnificent, or he could just stand there while a choir of cows sing the background vocals to "UltraLight Beam." No one knows what to expect.
"Ye [has] 4 minutes to do with as he pleases. He can rap, sing, dance or even just stay silent," a source close to MTV told TMZ. Rumor has it West and Taylor Swift are suppose to bury the hatchet, however, sources close to Ms. Swift say she has no plans to attend the awards.
The MTV VMAs will air Sunday night (August 28) at 9PM, with DJ Khaled hosting the evening's pre-show at 8PM. The year's ceremony will take place at Madison Square Garden and aside from 'Ye's performance, Rihanna--who is also the 2016 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award recipient--is expected to shut the stage down and pop princess Britney Spears will make her return as well.
