The aftermath of “historic” flooding claimed 13 lives in Louisiana, and tens of thousands have been displaced, which includes roughly 4,000 teachers and staff members in the East Baton Rouge Parish Schools where school for students in grades 1-12 is expected to begin on Wednesday (Aug. 24).
The Red Cross is calling the disaster “the worst to hit the U.S. since Superstorm Sandy,” and is estimated to cost “at least $30 million.”
