'Luke Cage' Releases A Sneak Peek Of The Fighting Grounds In Harlem
"You might be bullet proof, but Harlem ain't."
Netflix is back to release the trailer for their upcoming Marvel series, Luke Cage.
Marvel's first African American lead series takes place on the streets of Harlem. According to Mariah Dillard, Harlem is the "perpetual symbol of hope and prosperity."
In the two minute clip, Marvel superhero, Mike Colter, heads uptown to battle crimes in the neighborhood. He takes the fight of receiving justice into his own hands, fighting for what's right every single day. The visual also features familiar faces like Rosario Dawson, Mariah Dillard, and Ali Shaheed-Muhammad.
The program is said to have lots of musical appearances, featuring songs by Faith Evans, Jidenna, Charles Bradley, and Raphael Saadiq. “We have a lot of different musical appearances, but at the same time, we’ve got the Marvel action," said executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker. "We’ve got drama. I would like this to be, I mean, I know this is heavy but, The Wire of Marvel television, because we really deal with a lot of different issues.”
Luke Cage premieres next month. In the meantime, take a look at the trailer below.
