Mick Jenkins Escapes Slavery In Video For “Drowning” Featuring BADBADNOTGOOD


Mick Jenkins recently announced his forthcoming project, The Healing Component. Based off Jenkins’ soulful, spiritual and comforting messages, THC carries themes of love.

This week, the Chicago native released his BADBADNOTGOOD-produced “Drowning,” which is Red Bull Sound Select single. In the song’s video–directed by Nathan R. Smith– Jenkins plays the role of a man who has escaped slavery, he even helps his fellow brothers and sisters escape also. By the end of the video, he gets his hands on the slave catcher who left him for dead, but he turns the other cheek.
