Is RetcH The Latest Rapper To Sign With TDE?

UPDATE: Dave Free, president of TDE, has cleared the air about Retchy P and his alleged “new deal” with TDE. Apparently, he’s not “John Doe.”

New Jersey rapper RetcH is out of jail and captivating the Internet with news of a new record deal with, get this, Top Dawg Entertainment.

For the unfamiliar, the Hackensack native was arrested for armed robbery back in March and faced 10-20 years in prison if convicted.

Last night (Aug 18), RetcH sent out a surprising tweet about changing his rap name to “1up_ky” and followed up with an Instagram post, which prompted fans to welcome him home. Early this morning, the New Jersey rapper posted a photo of himself rocking a TDE chain with a blunt in hand and this shocking caption, “JUST SIGNED TO @TOPDAWGENT #1up.”

While some assumed he was just trolling, RetcH added more fuel to the fire when he posted another photo of him while rocking the chain on Twitter with Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.a.a.d city plague in the background.

Top Dawg Entertainment has its hands full with ScHoolboy Q’s “Blank Face” global tour, Isaiah Rashad’s latest single “Free Lunch,” and the forthcoming release of Ab-Soul’s next project coming soon. The California-based label is also currently shining the spotlight on their new artist Lance Skiiiwalker, who just dropped his new track “All Stops.”

With no official confirmation from CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith’s timeline nor any other artist in the label, it’s not hard to dismiss the claim. However, since RetcH is fresh out of jail, how did he get his hands on that crispy, TDE chain?
