Token Breaks Barriers For Paraplegic Artists In His “Waist Down” Video

Teenaged rapper Token may have just inspired a generation of disabled emcees with his new visual for “Waist Down.” In the extended version of his most recent single, the young rhymer from Massachusetts portrays an artist who becomes paralyzed after his jealous rival runs him over with his car. When he wakes up in the hospital, he decides to go against the odds and rips his performance at a packed-out show while he sat in his wheelchair.

By the end of the visual, the 17-year-old rhymer has zero f&*ks left to give once he finally gets up and defends his right to rap. Token taps into his inner Marshall Mathers when he gets red in the face while spitting defensive, quick-paced bars at anyone who hates on him for the groundbreaking visual. Haters may find the visual offensive, but Token makes sure to include an inspiring message for anyone who feels like they can’t make it, even if they’re disabled from the “waist down.”
