Usher Raymond IV, who will play the part of Sugar Ray, and Panamanian musician-politician Rubén Blades, have co-written and released a new song with an accompanying visual called “Champions” in anticipation of the film. “This is more than just a boxing film, this is a story about life,” said Raymond.

While showing flashes of the film, the lyric video (below) provides an inside look at Usher’s thoughts behind not only representing one’s country, but coming together to represent each other for a bigger purpose. “Even though we’re fighting for our countries, who are we fighting for? What are we truly fighting for?” added Raymond. “We’re worlds apart, face to face, toe to toe. When we’re both champions whether we win or lose.”
