Waka Flocka, K.Michelle & More Stand With Chris Brown Following Alleged Assault
That's what friends are for?
Chris Brown's celebrity buddies have come to his defense after he was taken into police custody for allegedly threatening a woman with a weapon.
According to the LA Times, former pageant winner Baylee Curran made the 911 call early Tuesday (Aug 30) morning, claiming the singer pointed a gun in her face while demanding her to leave his home. The 24-year-old later told TMZ Live, the incident began just a few hours earlier during a gathering. Curran says she was looking at jewelry displayed by an associate of the singer's when she was screamed at for touching it. “I don’t know if it was Chris’ friend or how he was related, but that’s when he told me to back away from the diamond necklace and started cussing me out and calling me names,” she said. “That’s when Chris pulled his gun and told me to ‘Get out.’ He said ‘I’m sick of you girls, get the F out!’”
Brown and a group of his friends left the home after officials obtained a police report to search the mansion. Los Angeles Police Department's police lieutenant Chris Ramirez spoke with reporters about the next steps. "[Investigators] still have to interview the victim and any potential witnesses in this incident that may have occurred at Mr. Brown's house." Rameriez said.
Friends of Brown's continue to argue that the incident was blown out of proportion. Ray J, who was also at the gathering with the singer, says his disappointment lies with the police, calling it a war zone.“I’m real upset about today," the singer/reality star said in an Instagram video."I’m not happy with how things are handled and how people can take a false story and blow it up into something way more than it should be. You look outside and it’s like a war zone for no reason.” He continued, “This s**t gotta change. It can’t be like this every time someone’s yipping and yapping trying to get an extra buck.”
Fellow artists like Lil Mama and Waka Flocka have also spoken out about Curran's account of the incident.
