Zendaya Tapped For Mary Jane Character In Upcoming 'Spider-man: Homecoming' Film
Bringing Mary Jane Watson some black girl magic
Singer, actress and rising fashion icon Zendaya Coleman has recently been announced as the first woman of color to play Peter Parker's long-time love interest, Mary Jane Watson, in the upcoming addition to Spider-man origin stories, Spider-man: Homecoming.
The K.C. Undercover star will reportedly be bringing a new spin to the character with thrifty looks and a nonchalant attitude.
"Everyone is so much like their characters," she said. "My character is super dry and awkward. It's great because it's who I am in real life, so I don't feel like I have to act too much."
Although Peter Parker, portrayed by Tom Holland, will have his heart-eyes set on another classmate by the name of Liz Allan (Laura Harrier) this time around, we're still excited to see how Zendaya incorporates her girl-next-door attitude into this iconic role.
