Donald Trump Gives Himself Pat On The Back For “Calling” NYC Bombing

With bombings over the weekend in the Chelsea area of New York City as well as in Seaside Park, and Elizabeth, N.J., the tri-state area is on high alert. However, instead of sending positive thoughts to N.Y. and N.J. residents during this stressful time, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is relishing in other people’s misery for the purpose of misplaced braggadocio.

“What I said was exactly correct,” Trump told Fox & Friends in an interview Monday morning (Sept. 19).  “I should be a newscaster because I called it [the bombings] before the news.”

The Chelsea bombing, which occurred Saturday (Sept. 17), injured 29 people, and there were no injured victims involved in either New Jersey incidents. At a rally in Colorado Saturday, Trump told supporters that a bombing had occurred in NYC and that “we better get very tough, folks.”

“We’re letting people in by the thousands, by the tens of thousands,” Trump added  while on Fox & Friends during a discussion about the United States bringing in more people. “Our leaders are…I wouldn’t even say weak, but stupid. What I said was exactly correct and everybody says ‘while he was right, he called it too soon.’ Okay. Give me a break.”

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton urged citizens to not jump to conclusions about the motive behind the bombings, which Trump seems to always say is “radical Islamic terrorism.”

“I think it’s always wiser to wait until you have information before making conclusions,” she said in response to Trump’s earlier comments about the NYC incident.

This wouldn’t be the first time Donald Trump has congratulated himself during a trying time in the country. This June after the Orlando nightclub massacre, he tweeted “Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don’t want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!”

New York and New Jersey residents, please be safe.
