Kodak Black Shows His Introspective Side In “Can I”
While Kodak Black is currently incarcerated, he’s showing his fans that jail won’t stop him from putting out great music. Fresh from his Lil Big Pac mixtape, he dropped the visuals to his introspective song, “Can I.”
Shot in grainy black and white, the video is a retrospective piece on Kodak Black’s life since he’s been in the Hip-Hop game. He has flooded the world with shows, vlogs, and glimpses of the chaotic environment that made him who he is. The visuals paint a more extensive picture of what the Florida native spits on the bluesy and reflective song.
Lyrically, he gives us emotional lyrics that capture his vulnerability that’s often hidden in his persona. Kodak raps very vivid and introspective bars on the hook like, “Would I live long enough to raise my son?/Made something out of nothin’/And nothin’ what I’m from/Can your boy do something productive for once?/And once a nigga make it, they gon’ wanna take it/Money don’t change ya, but it do drive ya crazy.”
