NYC This Weekend: Annual Latino Short Film Festival With ‘SNL’s Melissa Villaseñor & More

Are you down to laugh, cry and catch all the feels with reels by a brilliant collective of filmmakers this weekend? Celebrate #LatinoHeritageMonth captivated through their lenses at the 2nd annual Official Latino Short Film Festival in Harlem.

Starting Friday (Sept. 16), the festival, founded by visual icon Danny Hastings (see: WuTang to Prince Royce), will showcase 86 short films written, directed and produced by Latino filmmakers from across the nation and Latin America.

Features include actor Jeffrey Wahlberg, 11 women directors and sketches by Saturday Night Live’s newest Latina cast member, Melissa Villaseñor. Expect horror, drama, comedy and animation, among so much more.

This year’s theme is dedicated to Latino unity. The core mission behind the fest is directed at supporting, recognizing, showcasing and nurturing emerging American Latino filmmakers around the United States.
