Prince's Unreleased LP Titled 'Camille' Is Reportedly Up For Auction
The late Prince's music will forever remain a fixture in today's musical generation, and with this recent news, his body of work continues its unmatched longevity.
According to Rolling Stone, Prince's unreleased LP titled Camille was placed on the auction block at RR Auction. The 1986 project allegedly featured the "Purple Rain" artist's female alter ego, named Camille. The tracklist consisted of eight songs, which according to the site were rearranged and debuted on Prince's Sign 'O' the Times album, such as "Strange Relationship" and "Housequake."
The premiere of Camille was cancelled weeks ahead of its consumer debut, but copies were printed. It's still unclear how many of those replicas are in circulation today.
Recently, another auction event hosted items of Prince's Purple Rain clothing, including his signature white shirt, and his motorcycle jacket. In a statement issued by the auction's handlers, Profiles in History President Joe Maddalena said, "Very rarely are items from this superstar available for auction, so this creates a special event for us and for the world of collectors."
