The Apollo Theater Reportedly Declines Housing A Donald Trump Rally

Since 1934, the Apollo Theater served as a passageway to future talents, or quickly placed a roadblock on some people’s entertainment aspirations. Now, the historic Harlem-based venue plans to not become a part of a certain someone’s history.

According to the New York Daily News, Donald Trump’s team reportedly requested to host a campaign rally at the uptown establishment. A source told the news site that the Apollo declined to return phone calls made by Trump’s team, thus opting out of serving as the base for his event.

But to further clarify the situation, Apollo spokeswoman, Nina Flowers, said that it was actually safety precautions that played a major factor in declining to host Trump’s rally.

“We carefully reviewed the request and determined that because of public safety concerns, we did not have the capacity to ensure the safety of our community and could not accommodate the event,” the statement reads. On Trump’s side, representative Hope Hicks stated that they’re unaware “of any requests being made.”

The final presidential debate will air on Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. from the University of Nevada.
