Kamaiyah and YG Bring The Hood Out In The “F*ck It Up” Video
You already know it’s a special affair when Northern and Southern Cali get together, right? Well, Oakland’s rising sensation Kamaiyah called on her Bompton cousin YG to bring us the very, very lit visuals for her new banger, “F*ck It Up.” The rowdy track is featured on her mixtape A Good Night In The Ghetto.
She brings the whole hood out for a memorable celebration in the Oakland. Directed by Chris Simmons and produced by The Fader, the energetic video features Kamaiyah riding around The Bay area with YG as her and the squad gear up for a one wild evening with plenty of Hennessy — and gold grills galore. The video kicked off with a dope introduction by KMEL’s Shay Diddy as we find the whole squad getting hyphy in the parking lot, doing donuts and shaking their braids and dreads to the sounds of the new queen of Oakland.
Kamaiyah, now a Los Angeles transplant explains why it was important for her to bring her hood out for the visuals.
“The ‘F*ck It Up’ video was about bridging the Bay to L.A. gap,” she said. “I wanted to bring the Town out in a positive way and to have fun. I think we were successfully able to convey the message.”
