Premiere: Brazilian Rapper NIKO IS Serves Up Taino Flavor With “Mofongo”
After traveling to Puerto Rico enough times and experiencing the sanctity that is chowing down on traditional Borinquen cuisine, Talib Kweli protégé NIKO IS captures the magic of Indigenous flavor on a record aptly-titled “Mofongo.”
The Orlando-based, Brazilian-born MC lets loose a trilingual rappetizer, featuring vocals by Puerto Rican artist Ralfy Haze and production by JVega, ahead of his new project, Good Air. NIKO’s last EP, songs.4.people.who.break.promises, produced by Thanks Joey and presented by Colours of the Culture on iTunes and Spotify, earlier this summer.
