Rachel Dolezal To Release Memoir Titled ‘In Full Color’
Rachel Dolezal announced the title of her upcoming memoir to be In Full Color: Finding My Place In A Black And White World, via her Instagram page. The book is available for pre-order on Amazon and is scheduled for a March 2017 release.
According to the Amazon description, Dolezal’s memoir will tackle her life growing up to white, Evangelical parents, and how she became the “black” woman we see today.
“Her story is nuanced and complex, and in the process of telling it, she forces us to consider race in an entirely new light—not as a biological imperative, but as a function of the experiences we have, the culture we embrace, and, ultimately, the identity we choose,” reads the book’s summary.
The white woman and former President of the Spokane, Wash. NAACP chapter turned heads in 2015 by publicly identifying as a black woman. She announced her book early in 2016, and unfortunately, it’s really happening.
