Vince Staples Defends Christian Mother’s Rant Against “Norf Norf” Lyrics

A clip of a Christian mother ranting (under the YouTube username Two EvilsLesser) about the hostile lyrics heard on the radio to Vince Staple’s Summertime ’06 standout track ‘Norf Norf’ went viral this week.

Many in the hip-hop community have condemned the mother of four for her “uneducated” view. She even was brought to tears during the 11-minute bluster saying, “I can’t believe this stuff is on the radio. This is what our youth is being subjected to.” as she went on to repeat the lyrics even using the n-word.

“I’m raising four little girls and that just breaks my heart,” said the weeping Mother. “I tell you right now, music has a strong influence on our children. I normally never listen to that radio station, it’s almost like I was meant to hear to let you guys know about it.”

One person who didn’t have a problem with the rant was the Long Beach rapper himself. Vince explained to The Independent Wednesday (Oct 6), “I don’t really have much to say about the video — I don’t think it’s funny at all,” Staples told The Independent on Wednesday. “It’s not right to attack someone over their stance, their opinions, and their religion. I think that’s very immature.”
