Charlamagne Tha God Pens Self-Help Book For ‘The Dreamers & Optimists’
It’s safe to say, Charlamagne Tha God tells it how he sees it, so we’d expect his forthcoming book Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It — which is set to drop April 2017 — to be nothing short of an extension of his cut-throat truth-telling.
The controversial “Breakfast Club” host is reportedly a tell-all book, but not in the same light as say, Angie Martinez’s well-received memoir, My Voice. Instead, the book will cover Charlamagne’s most “brutally honest insights: pertaining to his own journey from South Carolina to radio and social media royalty in the heart of New York City, according to The Washington Post.
But in addition to chronicling his own path to success, Tha God noted the book can serve as a guide for other dreamers and aspiring media heads. “I wrote this for the dreamers, for the optimists; this book isn’t for pessimists,” Charlamagne told HipHopDX. “This book is about embracing who and what you are regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and class. God gave you the privilege of this thing called life so regardless of what this society tells you that you can’t do and what you don’t have to understand you lack nothing God gave you everything you need to succeed.”
Charlamagne’s Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It is slated to hit bookstores on April 18, 2017 through Simon & Schuster.
