Man Who Destroyed Donald Trump’s Hollywood Star Charged With Felony
James Otis, the man who was videotaped defacing Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, has been charged with a felony. He faces up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
TMZ writes, “The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office finally charged James Otis Thursday with one count of felony vandalism for taking a pickax to Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last month…he’s now facing up to 3 years in jail and a $10,000 max fine if he’s found guilty.”
The 52-year-old took a pick-axe to Trump’s star in late-October, completely destroying that square on the sidewalk. The NY Daily News reports that he was taken into police custody the next day, and was held on $20,000 bail. Otis was hoping to take the star and auction it off, in order to help raise money for the women that Trump allegedly sexually assaulted.
Even before Otis took matters into his own hands, Trump’s star has been defaced several times, from vandals spray painting it to even having a dog poop on it.
