Laurie Hernandez Gets Personal About Her Success In Upcoming Memoir

Laurie Hernandez flipped her way to Olympic Gold medalist success in Rio and landed on the beam of a promising career in the process.

Now, the Dancing with the Stars frontrunner is taking fans beyond her highlight reel in her upcoming memoir I Got This: To Gold & Beyond. “I hope I can help inspire people to go for their dreams,” Hernandez told People. “It was really fun to go down memory lane and reflect on how I got to where I am.”

In her first effort as an author, the 16-year-old reportedly details how she overcame injuries, defeated nerves and carved out time for education as a home-schooled student while pursuing Olympic dreams. “People have seen me at my best, but I don’t think most of them know everything that it took to get me to where I am today.”
