LeBron James Says He Lost Respect For Phil Jackson

King James reacts to Jackson referring to him and his business partners as a "posse."

LeBron James says he lost respect for Phil Jackson, after the 71-year-old former NBA coach referred to him and his business partners as a “posse.”

Jackson made the comments in a newly-published ESPN interview, which included his thoughts on James leaving the Miami Heat for the Cleveland Cavs.

"It had to hurt when they lost LeBron," said Jackson. "That was definitely a slap in the face. But there were a lot of little things that came out of that. When LeBron was playing with the Heat, they went to Cleveland, and he wanted to spend the night. They don't do overnights. Teams just don't. So now [coach Erik] Spoelstra has to text [coach Pat] Riley and say, 'What do I do in this situation?' And Pat, who has iron-fist rules, answers, 'You are on the plane. You are with this team.' You can't hold up the whole team because you and your mom and your posse want to spend an extra night in Cleveland.”

In his response, James noted that he had “zero” ties to Jackson, but admired him for coaching the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan’s era. That said, he’s not happy with Jackson’s "posse" comments.

"I've been in the league for 14 years and from the beginning two years in, I felt like I wanted to put my guys in positions of power, give those guys an opportunity to better themselves," James said Tuesday (Nov. 15). “You know, in the beginning we were highly criticized and I was highly criticized about what I wanted to do to help some guys around me become very successful in business.

"It just sucks that now at this point having one of the biggest businesses you can have both on and off the floor, having a certified agent in Rich Paul, having a certified business partner in Maverick Carter that's done so many great business [deals], that the title for young African-Americans is the word 'posse,'" he continued.

“If you go and read the definition of what the word 'posse' is, it's not what I've built over my career," James added. "It's not what I stand for, it's not what my family stands for. I believe the only reason he used that word is because he sees young African-Americans trying to make a difference."

Carter had similar feelings, telling ESPN that he took “offense” to Jackson’s characterization.

“If he would have said LeBron and his agent, LeBron and his business partners or LeBron and his friends, that's one thing," explained Carter. "Yet because you're young and black, he can use that word. We're grown men."

Steph Curry Says He’s “Definitely” Visiting NASA After Moon Landing Joke

Earlier this week, Stephen Curry appeared on the Winging It podcast where he expressed doubt in NASA's history landing on the moon. His comments caused an uproar in the science community and drew comparisons to Kyrie Irving’s flat Earth conspiracy.

NASA even weighed in, offering Curry a free visit to the lunar lab at Johnson Space Center in Houston. Looking back, the 31-year-old Golden State Warriors point guard admits he wasn't being totally serious about his feelings on the moon.

“I was just talking nonsense around conspiracies and whatnot...and I brought up the moon landing and if I believe it or not,” Curry explained to VIBE on Tuesday (Dec. 12) at the Warriors training facility where the NBA star gave a sneak peek at his new Under Armour Curry 6 sneakers.

“I have now parlayed that into an opportunity to educate myself and have an experience I will take NASA up on,” he continued. “I’m definitely going and also, lessoned learned in terms of obviously don’t believe something just because somebody said it, educate yourself. Do your research and be intelligent about it, that’s what I plan on doing.”

No word yet on when Curry will head to NASA.

Report: Redskins Considering Signing Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick has been without a job for nearly two years now, following his protest against social injustice during the national anthem. While the quarterback has been blacklisted from the NFL, things may finally be looking up. According to NFL coach Jay Gruden, the Washington Redskins are seriously considering signing Kaepernick.

Gruden revealed the news during a press conference on Tuesday (Dec. 4) after losing their second quarterback in the last month, TMZ reports. "[There's] not a lot of time to get a brand new QB and a system installed and taught in a couple days," Gruden said . "[Kaepernick has] been talked about and discussed..."

The Redskins previously lost their starting quarterback Alex Smith to a bad injury in Nov. 2018. They reportedly considered Kaepernick back then, but decided to go forward with Mark Sanchez. The team lost another starter, Colt McCoy to a broken fibula, which led them back to Kap.

As previously reported, Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL and its owner, accusing them of colluding to not hire him to a team for the 2017 season.

While the team is still in consideration, Gruden suggested that they will "probably go in a different direction." Nevertheless, he said the team will have a workout with its quarterback this week.

Magic Johnson's Daughter Elisa Narrowly Escapes Home Invasion

Magic Johnson's daughter, Elisa Johnson was reportedly involved in a home invasion in San Fernando Valley on Sunday (Dec. 2), TMZ reports. Johnson was reportedly staying at an Airbnb that she rented with friends when the attack occurred.

It's unclear if the suspects broke in or if the door was unlocked, authorities say. Nevertheless, it was reported that two armed men entered the establishment, and began terrorizing the 10 people staying there at gunpoint.

Elisa was reportedly in one of the bedrooms when she heard the commotion. She then escaped through a sliding door that was located at the back of the house and ran down the street to get help.

Luckily, no one was harmed during the robbery. But the bandits did make off with at least $30K to $40K in valuables, including jewelry, cash, and electronics.

Elisa is the youngest child of NBA legend Magic and Cookie Johnson. She previously appeared on E!'s reality series Rich Kids of Beverley Hills and her brother EJ Johnson's spinoff show, EJNYC.

It appears that Elisa may have responded to the reports on her Instagram Stories on Sunday (Dec. 2), saying, "God is good."

Airbnb also released a statement on Monday (Dec. 3), addressing the rarity of this incident. "There have been over 400 million guest arrivals in Airbnb listings and negative incidents are extremely rare. We are urgently investigating this incident and are reaching out to our community members and local law enforcement to better understand what happened," the statement reads.

It's unclear why the burglars targeted Johnson at this time. Police say they fled the scene before they arrived. Authorities are still investigating the situation.
