Prince Documentary Underway, Scheduled For 2017 Release

Prince was always known for his supreme style and his knack to create memorable experiences. The late artist is now set to receive a documentary focusing on his early years with commentary from those closest to him, titled Prince: R U Listening? Along with his family and friends, there will be commentary from other musicians who knew him best, Rolling Stone reports.

Throughout his illustrious career, he was able to build special relationships with many musicians and artists, who’ve been reportedly interviewed for this documentary. The piece will feature artists like Billy Idol, Mick Jagger, Lenny Kravitz, and Bono. Along with these names, we will also see his former tour members Dez Dickerson and Andre Cymone, who were able to spend time performing and traveling with the late artist.

His estate plans to continue celebrating his life with a four-day festival in April called Celebration 2017. This festive concert is meant to commemorate Prince’s one-year anniversary since the artist’s death. Along with the event, Prince’s Paisley Park residence will be converted into a museum where visitors will be able to witness never before heard music.

According to PBS, filmmaker Michael Kirk will take charge in directing this film, which will debut in the latter half of 2017. This documentary is sure to be filled with flair and an in-depth look at the Purple One. Stay tuned for an official documentary trailer.
