Peaceful Protests In Response To Election Results Show A United America In The Midst Of Division
This has been a trying day for citizens of the United States. In the wake of the results of the 2016 Presidential election, many are left confused, shocked and heartbroken. Thousands of people from all walks of life joined together from New York to California to protest the results peacefully.
From chants of “Not My President” to chants about a woman having control over her own body, many Americans took the liberty upon themselves to voice their disdain. The New York Times reports that in Oregon, Portland traffic was blocked thanks to protestors, and two light rail lines were delayed. In Union Square in NYC, thousands flooded from the sidewalks to full streets to march up towards Trump Towers, while students from the University of Pittsburgh rallied together near their school.
