'Scandal' Set To Return At The Top Of 2017
Get ready to bring in the New Year with a little bit of fictional drama. According to Entertainment Weekly, Scandal will return to primetime television on Jan. 19, 2017.
This will mark its sixth season of twists and turns when Olivia Pope & Associates return to cover up scandals or find themselves in new political dirt.
In an interview with EW, showrunner Shonda Rhimes said this season will pick up from the previous installment, which left viewers wondering who will win the presidential election, Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) or Francisco Vargas (Ricardo Chavira)?
"We are basically going to start our season on election night," Rhimes said. "Yes, it is going to play into our season, but we're not going to spend our time playing an election."
Scandal will premiere at 9 p.m. EST on ABC (Jan. 19).
