Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman Apologizes For Infidelity On Instagram

Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman apologized for cheating on his wife of 15 years, Sharonda Jones, in a now-deleted Instagram post. The R&B crooner said that he did things "outside of his marriage" that have hurt his family.

"I’m apologizing on record to my wife for my infidelity, about me doing things outside of the marriage that I'm not supposed to be doing with people who I had no business dealing with," he told the camera. "For them to be as cavalier as to do the things that they did to try to break my family apart. I'm apologizing on record to my family and to anyone else that I have hurt."

In a separate video, he said "I'm not exempt to the same issues, same demons, whatever you wanna call 'em...I apologize to my family, my wife most importantly. Hope you guys forgive me, and you know, I hope you understand in some way. If you don't, it is what it is."

Many fans were quick to jump on Stockman for taking to social media to air out his dirty laundry and for not being accountable for his actions. One Instagram user wrote "YOU didn't need to issue a public apology most ppl didn't even know about this until your post...accept it and try to make right to ur wife because your public apology means nothing to us it's ur wife that's hurting."

Texas Administrator Suspended For Coloring In Black Student's Hair Design With Sharpie

A school administrator from Texas has been suspended from their position at Berry Miller Junior High in Pearland, after forcing a black student to color in a design shaved into his head with a permanent marker.

Per the New York Daily News, “The boy’s hairstyle featured the letter "M" on the left side of his head, which is a violation of the district’s dress code.” The school’s assistant principal told the boy at school the next day that he had three options: “notify his mother, face disciplinary action or cover it with a marker.”

A detailing of the incident was written by the boy’s mother, Angela Washington, on Facebook. Washington says she was never informed of the action taken against her son.

“On Wednesday at school the Assistant Principal at Berry Miller Jr High in Pearland ISD told him he was out of dress code with his designs and decided to color my baby design with a PERMANENT MARKER!” she wrote. She added accompanying photos, one of the day the incident occurred, and two more pictures from the day after. She notes that the black marker coloring is still in his head.

“The district said the administrator ‘mishandled’ the case and the actions do ‘not align with appropriate measures for dress code violations,’” the Daily News continues. “The assistant principal, who has not been named, was placed on administrative leave."

Pharrell Partners With Verizon For New Music Program

Pharrell Williams has reportedly teamed up with Verizon to launch a new music education program at Verizon innovative Learning schools nationwide, Billboard reports. The new initiative was announced on Friday (April 26).

The program, which was launched under the Verizon Foundation, will reportedly provide free technology, Internet access, and tech-focused curriculums to under-resourced middle schools around the country. The organization will also offer access to the Verizon Innovative Learning Lab that will include cutting-edge technology such as virtual reality and robotics. The lab will be located at a middle school in Pharrell's hometown, Virginia Beach.

"I want all children to have access to that kind of creative growth, access and support. All kids, not just my own," the producer told Billboard in a new interview. "There's a lot of variables in a situation as to why something falls apart, but there's only one scenario where it holds together, and that's when all the variables are there. The environment, the family, the school, the system -- there's so many things. We just want to do what we can to balance the odds so that as many kids as we can afford, or help and assist in whatever ways, get this access and support."

Pharrell is also gearing up for the inaugural Something in the Water festival. The one-day concert kicks off this Friday (April 26) with performances by Missy Elliott, Migos, Pusha-T, SZA, and more.
