A&E To Lift The Hoods Off High Ranking KKK Members With Upcoming Documentary Series

The series will follow those who want to rise in the hate group, as well as those who want out.

A&E, known for guilty pleasure shows like Hoarders and Duck Dynasty, is taking another look at challenging and severe programming with the premiere of KKK Generation, an eight-part documentary series that will follow members of the Ku Klux Klan and those who wish to leave the hate group.

The New York Times reports the series will follow Steven Howard, the Imperial Wizard of the North Mississippi White Knights; Chris Buckley, a Grand Knighthawk with the North Georgia White Knights; and Richard Nichols, the Grand Dragon in the Tennessee Knights of the Invisible Empire. After over a year and a half of filming, executive producer Aengus James says the series will center on the children who are being lured into the ways of the KKK and the family members who are fighting to stop the generational cycle from happening.

“The struggles we were most drawn to were the struggles with the internal families,” James said.  “We had a stance, and we were clear with folks that we were hoping for them to see the light and to come out of this world. It’s an incredibly destructive environment for anybody to be in, let alone children.”

In one of the scenes, Howard gifts his three girls with Klan hoodies as an effort to keep up his troublesome life's work. Buckley's wife Melissa is trying to stop their five-year-old son from spewing out racial slurs he's learned from his father. What inspired her to do so was a reported incident she had with three African-American women at a local Wal-mart. Her husband, an Army veteran who served in Iraq and Afganistan, found solace in the Klan after blaming his financial and mental hardships on others. “I hate to say that I was even at the point of leaving him because he’s my best friend, he’s my kids’ father, he’s everything to me,” Melissa told the Times on Sunday (Dec.18). “But it got to the point where, if I’m not safe with him, why be with him?”

The series will also introduce anti-hate activists like Arno Michaelis, a former white supremacist who works with the group Serve 2 Unite to stop extremism.

The documentary will premiere on A&E  Jan. 10.

Obama Congratulates Woman He Pardoned For Making The Dean's List

When Danielle Metz was 26 years old, she received three life sentences plus another 20 years for drug-related offenses stemming from her husband's cocaine trafficking ring.

Prior to Barack Obama leaving office, he granted clemency to hundreds of men and women behind bars most for non-violent drug-related offenses. Metz was one of the many individuals given a second chance.

A nonprofit-news organization The Hechinger Report reported on Metz since her release, and after being granted clemency, she enrolled in Southern University where she's studying social work. She finished her freshman year with a 3.75 GPA landing her on the Dean's List.

Speaking to The Hechinger Report, Metz attributed her success to the former president."You don't know what you did for me. I'm finally coming into my own. I made the honor roll," Metz said.

Obama got wind of Metz accomplishment and penned a handwritten letter to her congratulating her on success.

"I am so proud of you, and am confident that your example will have a positive impact for others who are looking for a second chance," Obama wrote."Tell your children I say hello, and know that I'm rooting for all of you."

Trey Songz Claims He Acted In "Self-Defense" In Alleged Assault

Trey Songz is claiming he acted in self-defense in the ongoing domestic assault lawsuit against him.

In 2018, Andrea Buera claimed that the R&B singer attacked her at an NBA All-Star Weekend party. In an effort to get the lawsuit dropped, Songz is stating that he he not responsible for any harm suffered by Buera, due to the fact that he was just trying to protect himself.

Per court documents obtained by The Blast, Songz says that during the alleged encounter, he “reasonably believed Plaintiff was going to harm him and any force he used was only the amount reasonable necessary to protect himself.”

According to Buera, she was allegedly attacked by Songz at the Hollywood Hills party, after he became “enraged” that she was talking to one of his friends.
