Bobby Shmurda's Prison Sentence May Be Reduced
It's been a long road for Bobby Shmurda, but it appears as if his legal team has found a loophole that may allow the 22-year-old to come home sooner than expected.
Shmurda appeared in court Tuesday (Dec. 6) for allegedly getting caught with a shank while in prison. According to TMZ, Shmurda's lawyer Alex Spiro, advised the "Hot N***a" rapper to plead guilty to the reduced charge of "attempted promoting prison contraband." If he takes this deal, he'll be sentenced to one to four years in prison, which will run concurrently with his seven-year murder conspiracy sentence.
There's no word on whether or not Shmurda, real name Ackquille Jean Pollard, will take the deal. However, a fellow GS9 member Rashid Derissant was sentenced to 98 years in prison earlier this year for a host of charges including murder, attempted murder, assault, and conspiracy. So pleading guilty and being released early may be something Shmurda entertains.
Bobby Shmurda will have to mull over the plea, as he's due back in court on Saturday, January 7.
