Lin-Manuel Miranda Trumps Beyoncé, Adele And The Rock As AP Entertainer Of The Year
After winning a Pulitzer Prize and a slew of Tony awards, after picking up a Golden Globe nomination and inspiring a best-selling album of Hamilton covers–among many other honors–Lin-Manuel Miranda tops his illustrious year with The Associated Press Entertainer of the Year accolade.
"There's been more than a little good luck in the year itself and the way it's unfolded," said the Boricua rapper and playwright, who beat out the likes of Beyoncé, Adele and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. "I continue to try to work on the things I've always wanted to work on and try to say yes to the opportunities that I'd kick myself forever if I didn't jump at them."

Miranda joins the ranks of previous AP Entertainer of the Year winners, which have included Adele, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga and Betty White, among others.
Our warmest congrats to Miranda, whose 2016 also saw him host Saturday Night Live, demand that Congress probe the financial crisis of his native Puerto Rico, and earn an honorary doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
